What a ride.
Two. Dos. Due. Deux.
Wow, two years!
Letting it sink in now...
Ok. Let's chat. First off, I'm going to be honest. When I first started this journey, I didn't ever think that I would be here. Seriously. I almost quit so many times that first year, that we are working on straight miracles here people. LOL The first year was intense because it was a year of discovery for me in both this business and personal aspects of my life. My business took a few different directions before it settled to where it is now. Wait, who am I kidding, it's constantly evolving! That's the thing about being a small business owner or an entrepreneur, or a creative, or whatever you want to call it. You never stay in one spot, you never just do one thing, and you never stop growing and changing. It's a beautiful thing to look back on all of the ups and downs of the last two years! Let me say that I am so incredibly happy that I didn't give up when I wanted to. I am happy that I pushed through the frustration and tears, and chose to keep chasing my dreams no matter how unattainable my goals felt.

The second year of J. Isabel Designs commenced on May 19th, 2017. I was just getting the hang of things, learning how to better manage my business processes, and growing my community. I decided to take things in a more personal direction, and connect more with my followers while simultaneously showing more of myself and behind the scenes of my business. Year two has given me so many new challenges, has connected me with more amazing people, and has just recently begun to reveal more opportunity than ever before. There were still some times when I wanted to give up or give in, but I learned to stand my ground, trust myself, and listen to my intuition. This year has been a year of growth for both myself and my business, and nothing but positive things have come from that. I have learned to stand on my own, to have a bigger voice, and to say no. Saying no was one of the most important lessons I learned in year two. I also learned to take more breaks, to not be so hard on myself, and to not take on too much at once.
Year two also held one of the biggest opportunities I have had yet. I had my first meeting with a large and prominent company that wanted to use me for their gifting services. I was shocked, excited, nervous beyond belief, but I went into the meeting and guess what? I KILLED IT! I had never been more proud than I was in that moment. I took my fears and shut them out of my mind. I gathered all of my courage, called on my confidence, and rocked my first major opportunity with this business. It took two years to get to that point!! Never give up, never give up, never give up is my best advice!
For those of you who want to get started, always remember that loving what you do is the most important thing. Don't do it strictly for money, don't do it for someone else, don't do it to be Insta-famous. Do it for you. Do it because you love it. Do it because you would not want to do anything else. That's when good things happen. That's when dreams come true. That's when you discover a path and a journey that is 100 percent for you, and that is a beautiful thing!
I'm going to keep this one shorter than most and end with this:
Trust yourself, trust your journey, believe in YOUR dreams, and big things will happen for you. If you're in it, keep going!! Good for you!! You're doing great!
If you're thinking about getting started, go for it!! Right now!! Just jump in!
That's how you do it. You just do. You let go, you use fear to push you, passion to motivate you, and the support of your friends, family, and if you're lucky a creative community like the one that I have.
