Transitioning into spring and getting organized.
"The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also." -Harriet Ann Jacobs
Spring is just about here, and that means beautiful blooming flowers, bright colors, and spring cleaning! Spring cleaning is a wonderful thing that offers us the chance to reorganize our spaces, embrace our creativity, and find new inspiration. Personally, spring cleaning is one of my favorite things, because I love to change up my style, start new in both business and personal aspects, and re-energize myself for the coming months ahead. Being a small business owner, I am constantly growing and changing in terms of style and organization. I love to mix things up and seek new ways to motivate myself. Today, I will be sharing some of my favorite tips for getting organized, embracing spring time, and making a beautiful space that will inspire you everyday.
Tip 1: Grab a nice cup of coffee (or tea if you prefer). 😃☕️
I like to start my day with the good stuff to wake up, energize my creativity, and get ready to change the world. Seriously that's how coffee makes me feel. 💪🏻😂 #butfirstcoffee
Confession: I am a super planner. 🙈 I like to make lists to keep myself organized, I set timers to remind myself when to eat snacks (don't want to get hangry now), and I keep myself on a schedule so that I get everything done that I need to do that day. In this age of technology, most people like to use their cell phones to manage their time, but sometimes I just don't want to be glued to my device. I spend enough time on Instagram selecting the right caption and filter for my posts. 🙊😂
Enter super cute and convenient watch. ⌚️ Perfect for keeping track of time, but also keeps you hands free to get all that organizing done. 😉
Pssst...I'm going to let you in on a little secret. I recently discovered something new about myself. I can actually wear a watch! I am not much of a jewelry or accessory kind of person, and I have never been very fashion forward, so the wrist candy that people sport these days was never much appealing to me; often too blingy to go with my laid back style. However, when I came across this lovely wood watch by JORD watches, it was very stylish, and yet not so overwhelming that I couldn't wear it with casual outfits. Win-win.
P.S. I have been seeing these cool watches all over Instagram, and I finally got the chance to check one out! I absolutely love it! The design is unexpectedly cool, and goes with a lot of my casual outfit choices. I have been wearing it nonstop, and have never felt more stylish and put together when I have it on! What a perfect accessory for transitioning into spring and fulfilling my desire to try new things!
Ok let's jump back into getting our space just as fresh and fun as our outfits!
Tip 2: Put on some music! I find music to be so motivating, and I really love to dance around and sing whenever I clean. It makes it go by faster and makes it so much more fun! 💃🏻
Now let's get on to the organizing! I am often very busy with my business, so my workspace tends to get a little out of hand. Imagine papers, receipts, and notebooks strewn all over. Not the best thing for staying on top of tasks and keeping motivated.
Tip 3: Make your space pretty.
Spring is all about beauty, so why not surround yourself with some pretty things to inspire you? I don't know about you, but I tend to get a little stressed out when my desk is messy and I can't find anything that I am looking for. When everything is organized, I can gather my thoughts better and be more productive. One of my favorite ways to stay organized is to buy cute desk accessories. A few of my favorites are notepads, colorful pencils with quirky sayings, and calendars to keep my tasks in front of me, and to remember important events and appointments (also another great way to step away from the phone once in a while 😉).
Tip 4: Store your pencils in an adorable mug for a unique way to spruce up your desk.
Tip 5: Decorate with unusual items. I used my favorite Sugarfina candies, because they are adorable, and I find it inspiring when I look at them. They also make a great snack when you need a little mid afternoon boost. 😋
Tip 6: My personal favorite! Add some color! Get some fresh flowers and a succulent or two, put them in mason jars, and enjoy how fun and fresh your space will feel! Spring has definitely arrived in my house!
