Drunk in love

J. Isabel Designs

Show your skin a little love, and it will love you back.

Having a small business takes up a lot of my time, but one thing that I have to keep a priority is my skin care routine. I have pretty sensitive combination skin with occasional breakouts and my skin reacts to everything! When I stress, it shows on my face. When I eat the wrong foods after late nights of work, my skin reminds me why I shouldn't make that a regular habit. When I am having a week with a significant lack of sleep, my skin likes to appear extra dull to indicate to everyone that I missed a few beauty sleep opportunities. I think we are seeing a pattern here. Every day life can affect our outward appearance and although perfection is not a beauty standard we should be working toward, having healthy skin makes me feel more confident and I am proud to take care of my first impression. To help put my best face forward, I have to carefully select products that are good for sensitive skin, but that are also effective at combating the issues that I have. One of the main concerns that I have had over the years is the little under-the-skin bumps that like to stick around no matter what I do. I religiously wash my face, never wear makeup to bed ( never really wear foundation all that often anyways), and try to maintain a good diet. ( Sugar detox still going strong!) Even with all of these steps, those stubborn bumps just wouldn't disappear. Until now!

Enter skin miracle here.

I never rave about products for two reasons. One, I rarely find something that I love that much to keep talking about it and two, I have to really be obsessing over it for a while to recommend it to someone. My go to store for new beauty finds has always been Sephora. I have also had a Birchbox subscription in the past, and found a lot of great products through there as well! My latest fave is the Drunk Elephant skin care line! I tried a few samples before purchasing the travel sizes of their day glow and night bright facial serum kits. I am a sucker for serums and love to try new ones, so this was very exciting for me! The only problem I often have is that some serums can leave my skin too dry, too oily, or they just won't do anything at all! Enter the first Drunk Elephant product I ever tried, the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial oil. OH EM GEE! This felt like silk on my skin and I immediately noticed a nice glow when I would wear it, which is awesome when I don't wear all that much makeup. I just had to try some other products from this line to see if there was a real shot I could have found my miracle in a bottle. I decided to try a sample of the T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum. It felt pretty good going on, but I wasn't sure if I was convinced after one use. I got a few more samples and knew that I was hooked! I started by purchasing the travel kits because I have a slight obsession with miniature products. LOL The day glow kit comes with the B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Gel and the C-Firma Day Serum. The night bright kit comes with the T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum, and the Virgin Marula Luxury Facial oil. Let me tell you...I have been using these products for a few weeks now I am literally obsessed! Hence the blog post. I have been so excited about these awesome products that I had to share. My skin is literally g-l-o-w-i-n-g and I have been getting so many compliments! A little exfoliation and a little hydration are all I needed for lovely skin and a definite boost of confidence!
