Can you define your life in one word?... Busy?
Are you a non-stop, on-the-go super human too?
Don't you love when someone asks you what you do all day? It doesn't matter if you are a mom, a business owner, or a 9-5er. We are all busy, and we all have things that require our constant attention. Being a small business owner, and basically my own boss, people always assume that I can just sit on the couch all day. It is the exact opposite actually. I am constantly on the go! If I'm not at Target ( Am I the only one guilty of Target trips at least a few times a week? ), or the supermarket, I'm at the gym, delivering gift boxes, working side jobs, making phone calls, answering emails, posting to social media, styling photo shoots, well, you get the idea! I don't have kids, but I do have two dogs that are very needy, and I can only imagine all of you super moms doing all of this, on top of making it to baseball practices and ballet lessons! My point here, is that some time in all of this madness, we need to take a moment ourselves! We are important too. We are just as important as our children (dogs :D) , our significant others, our emails, phone calls, doctors appointments, and all of the other tasks that pull us in a million directions every day!
More yoga, less busy.
So what do I propose? If you haven't already guessed, I am going to go ahead and say that yoga changed my life. Yoga is amazing! BUT, lets be clear. Yoga is not about how flexible you are, the cute clothes you are wearing, or the green smoothie you choke down afterwards. Yoga is much more than that.
Before you tell me you don't have time...
You are reading this aren't you? ;)
Yoga can be a spiritual experience, but it can also allow us to simply catch our breath and feel more connected to our own bodies again. Taking a few minutes out of your day ( not talking a full hour of deep thought and slow breathing, but if you can swing it, go for it!) to close your eyes, stretch, and not be glued to your phone can be very beneficial. I'm telling you, it will calm you down, center your thoughts, and it is also good for those tight muscles caused by all of the stress we carry! All of our tasks can wait a few minutes, and to tell you the truth, everything and everyone will benefit from our slightly improved sanity!
Basically...Take a few moments for you! You deserve it! You have earned it! And next time someone asks you what you do all day, walk away and go do yoga! LOL
